Unknown features and questions

I am a new owner and I have the following questions for my car which is imported from Japan:
1) In my car, there is a button labeled "DSC OFF". what does it do?
2) In the middle "case", just in front of the DVD slot, there is a small box and inside there is a devices named HTC which looks like a card reader and there is a speaker inside. what is the purpose of this?
3) two strange buttons that seem to have been externally installed: the one is round shaped with a minus symbol. When you press it it lights green and a tick is heard but nothing happens. The second is at the very front of the windscreen and there is also a **** similar to the volume ****. If you press the button while the lights are off, all of the lights will go on.
4) The engine and cockpit, both get very hot while the engine is on. Is this normal?
5) Final question: If I leave the engine running for some time, it starts to tremble like the poer drops and increases randomly. Is this something that can be adjusted?

Sorry for asking so many questions but as I said I have no knowledge of this car.

1) DSC OFF Turns your stability control off. Hold it for about 7-10 seconds, and it turns traction control off.
2)Dunno?
3)Dunno?
4)Yes, rotarys get a lot hotter than normal engines.
5)No, this happens to me sometimes when im idling.

Might not have been included in the import (?). Anyway, I believe it's available for download/viewing on Mazda's website.

Trustbuddy--pretty much the same remarks could be directed to you.

Everyone else on the forum--I apologize for this unnecessary post.

#5 is likely due to the A/C unit shutting down and turning on repeatedly. It does it every 30-50 seconds.

A yellow light with a car with squigly lines behind it will appear in the gauge cluster meaning everything is off and will stay that way until you turn the engine off and restart the car.

I'd like to know what that card reader thing he's talking about is in #2.

Thanks for the replies and here are the answers:
1) If I had the manual I would have read it. It is an import car and the staff inside nobody knows here what they are because they don't normally come in my country
2) I don't speak Japaneese
3) The card reader has 3 buttons and when you switch on the car it speaks japaneese but I don't understand a word

The card reader thing could be a prepaid toll fee that automatically deducts as it passes a toll?

I'm not a mod and I think you're a douche. This guy came in here asking some questions that I think are pretty interesting. The manual is clearly going to be in Japanese so you can say "READ TEH MANULE!!111!!ONEZORZ!!" all you want and it's not going to help.

Another new Cypriot owner with a JDM import! Welcome Andreasy!

Told you guys this country is full of RX8s I see at least 5-6 every day going to and from work.

By the way, the DVD Navi is totaly useless here in Cyprus and the card reader is used to update the firmware of the DVD rom. I ripped the whole thing out and installed a DVD/MP3 player.

I figured it out my selft and actually this card reader is something they use in Japan and USA for paying checkpoint taxes. Totally useless for us. The other device on the windscreen's corner is a light sensor for automatically switching on the lights at night.

The only thing I haven't managed to undernstand is this little round button next to the steering wheel (it was installed externally). When you press it it glows green and it sounds like a conductor (a tick is heard). Anyhow, I just ignore it.

Have a nice day

All the toll road collection devices I have hear of use a small transponder box we put on our windshield. It would be interesting to see these. Could you post some pictures of these things?

Try making the pictures smaller. 175kb or less should work. I would love to see pictures of those features since there are subtle differences in the equipment on JDM and USDM cars. (besides the ovioud RHD/LHD)
Did you import used, or imported a new one?
It might be an alarm, or some sort of removed aftermarket tuning (nitrous?)
