so i bought a turboxs race only to find out that it doesnt line up on the rear side with stock cat back, so we had to cut the stock piping and turn it 10-15 deg then weld back...........i also bought a ten dollar cel delete off of ebay and so far its working........the midpipe is awesome except for some vibrating at idle.....heres a vid........

what is the issue with the rear of the pipe not lining up? Got any pics of the problem?

An no O2 bungs or "spoofing" will work with the RX-8 PCM, not gonna happen

did you bolt on the springs that were on the stock exhaust. those help the flanges and seals line up correctly

TurboXS midpipe is 3 inches and the stock exhaust is only 2 inches. Thats the begining of your problem. I honestly think that thing will cause you problems until you buy a 3 inch exhaust. As far as a the cel, an O2 simulator could possibly work if your lucky, but most likely it will come back. Our computers on our cars are just too smart for their own damn good.

No need to get angry, turbo, just asking a simple question.

If you installed the hanger and bolted it all up properly you shouldn't have any vibrations

I've heard this, but the Racing Beat midpipe is also a full 3" pipe that claims to bolt up to the stock catback, so I don't know.

If you can bolt an aftermarket 3" catback to the stock midpipe why can't you bolt an aftermarket 3" midpipe to the stock catback?

i believe there is a reduction in the flanges so it bolts up to the stock exhaust. in order to run the turboXS system good, you need to get the whole thing. midpipe and catback

i had a similar problem, i used a turbo xs midpipe with a JIC exhaust. I had to modify it to fit. I have a similar rattle that just started happening. just when the car is idling it will vibrate just slightly and we get the "death rattle" as my roomie calls it.

I havent pulled it into the shop to check it. but chances are if u installed it not too long ago maybe a bolt is loose.

I wish I had the answer for you, but I dont. I have the turboXS exhaust, so I read up quite a bit on it, and I kept on seeing people having problems with the turboXS midpipe if they did not buy the exhaust. I guess they might be an exclusive fit type thing.

it is. TurboXS is the only "Real" 3 in exhaust. all the other ones have reductions so you can use the stock exhaust parts. the turboXS has none except from the exhaust manifold

The vibrating could be from a loose bolt, but I also remeber a bunch of people having problems with that too. I forget, does that midpipe have a hanger? If it does maybe you can bend that downward, cuz I beleive the rattle comes from the midpipe hitting the central brace. So if you bend it downward the midpipe should rise and avoid that rattle. Just my $.02. I ended up selling that midpipe and putting on an RP supercat with my turbo exhaust, so im not real familiar with the midpipe.
