shouldn't this be about oils, not bearings?
All I see is a bunch of numbers being thrown around about some bearings that 99% of the people here do not care or will never even bother researching... don't see how it will make a serious difference.
good history lesson tho lol

So just for funnies I sent Amsoil a note asking them for their recommendation for our cars. Of course, I anticipated that I would get the generic "OE specification" type email, but I was more intrigued by their latter statement. It almost seems like they clicked the "generic warning about synthetic" button and then the "generic warning about 2 stroke oil in a 4 stroke engine" button lol.
Hi Paimon,
We recommend OE 5W-20 or XL 5W-20 Synthetic Motor Oil at Mazda’s recommended oil change intervals for your application. Mazda has published a technical service bulletin recommending against using synthetic or semi-synthetic motor oil in its RX8 rotary engines; however, AMSOIL fully supports the use of OE or XL 5W-20 Synthetic Motor Oil in these applications.
You also noted that you are adding two-stroke oil to your fuel to lubricate the seals in the combustion chamber. We don’t recommend using AMSOIL Synthetic Two-Stroke Oil in this way as it is formulated for use in two-stroke engines, not four-stroke rotary engines. Improper use of AMSOIL Two-Stroke oil in this application could lead to the formation of carbon deposits.

A few years ago I clicked through the "Which oil should I use" at Valvline's web site. The answer came back 5w20 semi-synthetic. I e-mailed them asking how they reconciled that with Mazda's no synth position. The pointed out that all 5w20s have synthetic stock, and are thus at least semi-synth.
That means that, as a user of GTX 5w20, I'm firmly within two of the three religious factions on this site: use dino and use synthetic. I'm just at odds with the use heavier faction. But being 2/3 in step with opinion here is awesome.
