Transmission Pan

Someone showed this part to me yesterday. It is a transmission pan that has the underneath "cooling" rows that are operational at speed. I said it looks like Snake Oil and is probably good for absolutely nothing but burning a hole in your wallet.

Anyone seen one of these before?

Ya. They aren't as effective as a 50 dollar stacked plate transmission cooler from Hayden or B&M. If you have an ATX, just get a Stacked plate cooler. They're easy to install, cost almost nothing, and can quadruple the life expectancy of an ATX, while reducing fluid intervals, and improving shifting quality. (If the stock transmission isn't running in a good temp range).

They cost about 50 bucks from summitracing or jegs (or your fav online store), and should be the first mod to any ATX equipped car, especially one thats driven aggressively.

I have a 6spd and haven't even considered purchasing anything for the transmission as far as cooling is concerned. That pan actually came from Jegs.

I think the part looks fairly absurd.
