I know this is a dumb post, but I've had my 2004 GT MT for 5 months now, and I still have not found anywhere these parts seem to belong. I bought the car used, and these came in the glovebox and they are stamped on the inside with the following:

>POM< NF4 OZ7G (which means nothing to me, or google)

Please let me know if these are a part of the car or these are hitting the trash. Thanks,

can you give us a size reference? is that slot as wide as the seatbelt?

 

Yes they do go to the your RX-8.
They go on the little tabs on the sliding center console between the seats.

 

Yup I know where those go, they are the clips for the center console slider. The go on both of sides of the front part of the console to make it "slide" easier and lock in place so it wont be loose. Mine fall off all the time and are a bitch to snap back in.

the clips go on the underside of the top slider cover where I have marked the two lower circles. the lines are the track they slide in, and the top circles are where they will fasten in to secure the sliding cover to the center console.

Oh **** ya, I've seen them before but didn't recognize it. If that is the part for the console, yours is probably broken. Just like mine is.
