Tensioner pulley bolt broke.

So when I was doing my oil change today I noticed that my alternator belt was starting to fray badly so I decided to change both belts. I loosened the idler pulley locknut then started to turn the adjusting bolt to take the first belt off and the bolt snapped in half.

Does anyone know if I can buy just a new bolt or do I have to buy the whole tensioner assembly? What is the name of the assembly? Any websites that have a good price on this part, or does anyone have this lying around their garage and they want to sell to me?

Thanks,

Jake

yeah its me necroing a thread.

Was changing my belts today and snapped that crappy thin cheap idler pulley tensioner bolt. Called the local autoparts stores and one doesnt even have a listing and the other is a special order for 30 or so. When i try looking online myself i find the perfect diagram which has everything even the bracket...but not the dam tensioner. The bolt is so siezed that i would need to drill it out and retap the hole for which i dont have a tap.

Does anyone know where to find this part? i want to make sure im getting the right thing rather than rely on a parts guy and find out he bought the idler puley not tensioner.

it looks like if you snapped the really long 6mm bolt (or whatever it is), it doesn't come separate, and you need the whole tensioner assembly, which is of course $138... N3H1-15-930B

if you can find a long enough 6mm bolt, the part that it goes into, Mazda calls it a shaft, its the thing the idler pulley is actually on, IS available, N3H1-15-932 for $8.58

Yeah actually i did but the bolt is siezed into the mount for the pulley. Its the part with the large threaded end and the spacer the ideler pulley sits on that locks down onto the bracket. Bracket is fine, and the pulley is fine just not the little aluminum peice.

What im going to try is cutting off the 6mm bolt and drilling it out then getting a tap and retapping the whole for a new bolt. If that doesn't work tomorrow then ill order the shaft? i guess is what it is.

Thanks though, at least thats a step further in finding the part.

welp, just broke off the dam tap in the part! goes to show how cheap chinese tools are. Couldn't find taps anywhere but at harbor frieght so i said screw it and just bought them. Now i have a worthless part with a "hardened" tap stuck in it. I don't understand why all of the diagrams on dealer sites show the belts, pulley and mounting bracket but not the bolt that holds the pulley on and tensions the whole thing. I cant find that part listed anywhere which is probably the more annoying thing that the work i need to do to replace it.

mazda dealer near me can get it and like j9fd3s said it's the whole assembly for 147 from them though. Thanks mazda for making a weak badly thought out part that will most certainly break for everyone at some point and require a large expense to rectify.

Now i just need to try and figure out what the part number is so i can see if it's cheaper online somewhere.

i posted the part number, and the list price. if you do better than list price you're getting a good deal, if you do worse than list price you're not

I'll send it for $25 shipped Priority Mail, usually takes 1 - 3 day delivery max

only had 7k miles on it and looks fairly new, not a worn out piece of junk

if all you're looking for is the bolt then take the idler pulley mount down to a hardware store and look through their metric bolt boxes
