Switchblade Remote

Switchblade Remote
Hi guys, I'm a UK 8 owner and have bought a switchblade remote key from eBayUK. Unfortunately, I bought it before i knew this place existed.
When i pulled the key apart, it turned out to be the Mitsubishi version (still branded with the Mazda log). Followed the instructions for coding the key and that worked a treat. Starts the car no problem.
However i can't get the remote to open/lock the doors. Would the Dealers be able to programme the remote to work? Was thinking of telling them that it used to work but has stopped since i changed the battery, but that it still starts the car.
Don't want to turn up at the Dealers and look like an idiot when they tell me that the Remote will have never worked.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Probably a better forum for this (Electronics) but there's a whole separate process for programming the remote. The process is in your owners manual I believe. If not, then do a search on the forums as I'm sure someone has provided the details at some point or another. For the US versions of the RX8, I don't believe the switchblade remotes work for 03/04 models. It's just 05+

It looks like you got the hard part done (adding the key to the car memory). Here is a link to the thread that goes over adding the fob too. I don't know if the Mitsubishi fob you are talking about will work but give it a try.
The one I have looks like this: http://kamipiula.net/pictures/FK6_640.jpg EXCEPT the FCC ID isn't the same as the one in the picture. My FCC ID is KPU41783. I know that one works for US RX-8s.

Thanks for the replies guys. have tried the remote programming method on here and that did'nt work. have been told by Da Lawya that the Mitsubishi versions don't work with the 8 
. Although I have been talking to an Auot Locksmith who says it should be possible to programme it so I'm thinking of taking it to him and see what method he will use to try and match it up.
I had got my hopes up when i got the transponder to recognize it and the key started the engine.
Will let you know if i go ahead and get him to try it and what the outcome is.

How did you pull the key apart? I need to pull my key fob apart to pull a new key on it....as I purchased it used.
