I was looking at the switch panel in the lower left of the dash the other day (lower right for right hand drive models), and noticed that in the US model there are 4 positions. 2 of the positions are taken now, by the panel dimmer and DSC Off switches, leaving 2 positions unused. I think one of these may be for the JDM and/or Euro spec models rear fog light switch. Can anyone tell me what the one remaining position is for? Perhaps someone with a JDM spec RX-8?

If memory serves me correctly, the Japanese cars have a headlight levelling switch in that grouping of switches.

 

What about the headlight washer? What activates that?

 

If memory serves me correctly, the washers activate after using the window wipers a set amount of times.

Don't know about the 4th switch though.

 

The headlight washers are activated every fifth time you use the windshield washers or if you do a quick double push on the lever.
