Strange idle after disconnecting battery

I have been running the REVi without a screen for a few months without any idling issues.

This afternoon, I disconnected the battery to clean the terminals, and after reconnection, I suddenly have uneven idle, including the car stalling a couple of times. Decided to pull the REVi and put in the stock air box (with one screen left inside) and idle was back to normal. Only thing was that the idling speed dropped to 750rpm from the usual 850-950 rpm.

Anyone encountered this strange problem before? Seems kinda strange that a battery disconnection can cause idling issues. I'm gonna reinstall the REVi tomorrow with the screen and see if the idling returns to normal. IN the meantime, if anyone has any other cures or answers, that wld be much appreciated.

Never heard this before. Could your revi airfilter be clogged? Dirty?

The computer has to re-learn the idle, especially with the aftermarket air intake. Let it idle for about 10 minutes with a/c off and then another 5 minutes with the a/c on. That should take care of everything.

that is kinda correct..

first put one screen in.. it helps a lot.. and it takes about 9 drive cycles for everything to settle down after a ecu reset..

beers

Thanks for your help, guys. I disconnected the battery again, then reinstalled the REVi without the screen, and let the car idle for abt 10 mins after that. Seems to have cured the problem, and she's running smooth as ever again.

Thats why it's good to drive it a few miles. Then shut it off then re-drive again.

Like they said it takes a few drive cycles.

This is normal.

Taking off the battery cables will reset the ECU if they are off long enough.
