I have been searching through the posts and trying to find this covered elsewhere with no luck. Anyone try to replace the steering wheel in an 04 or 05 with one from an 08 (newer design)?

No particular reason for the change other than i like the look of the new wheel better. it looks like the controls are basically the same, but i know the airbag may cause some problem with a switch out.

Any way, anyone done this yet?

 

yes i have recently
you have to buy a steering wheel puller otherwise you cant get it off
you might lose traction control and airbag light will go off
also make sure u disconnect your battery and discharge all electricity in car unless u like airbags exploding in your face and you will need extending quick release and hub from NRG for 200 dollars because with the hub alone the steering wheel is too close to blinkers and windshield wipers

yes like said above disconnect battery and drain ALL componenets of power so u don't ge a faceful of airbaG

 

but if you do blow up your airbag dont fear...i have extra one for sale
