Starter Replacement

Just wanting to confirm that a n3r3 14 tooth 2kW starter from a series 2 is a direct fit replacement for my series 1 n3h1 13 tooth 1.4kW. Both manual. Can get this used for $200 compared to brand new n3z1 13 tooth for $150 new (aus $).
Thoughts?

As long as both are for 6-port manuals, they are a direct swap as far as I have seen on the forum.

Yes, it’s well discussed in past threads on here; direct fit on the Manual Transmission models and highly recommended. It uses the same mounting hole, but they offset the starter centerline slightly to account for the additional tooth. It was only one additional tooth difference.

There’s 17 years worth of information on here; pretty much just about everything you’ll ever need. If you make some effort to look around, search, and read.

It becomes a bit old after 100 people come along and asking for the same thing that already exists for them to directly access. Then when they start a new thread like this it just adds clutter and makes it that much more work to dig through trying to find what’s needed.

Please make an effort to look/search and then add your questions to an existing thread. Because there’s pretty much nothing else going on with this particular car that hasn’t already been posted on here already. After all, it’s been out if production for almost 10 years now.

Thank you.

I responded to your pm

let me just add for anyone else who reads this, the forum search engine is not the best. It will often be better to search using google, but add this to your search words/terms (no spaces, exactly as shown below)

site:rx8club.com

this focuses the google search to this forum website (or any website you replace “rx8club.com” with)
