hi, iam new to this forum and looking for any help that can be offered please.

Last week i bought an RX8 192 year 2004.

Unfortunately i didnt do my research and now find out that the car suffers from the common problem of not starting when it is hot!

I have removed the starter motor and checked with the main dealer who confirm that it hasnt been modified for the later up-rated starter.

A local scrap yard has offered me a starter from a 2006 rx8 231 hp model at a reasonable price. Iam having alot of fun with this car and would happily invest in keeping it.... my main question is, would a 2006 starter from a 231hp engine be compatable with my 2004 192hp rx8?

so, you have an auto transmission?
No, they are different starter motors.
Where are you from?

 

that problem usually occurs when the compression its low.
