SS clutch line
SS clutch line
i am getting some bad grinding at high RPM going from 1st to 2nd gear. has anyone tried a SS clutch line and if so which one did you go with. i just replaced all the tranny fluid but am considering some redline tranny fluid. i really hate the grinding so any info would be appreciatted.
i searched "clutch line" but came up with nothing.

I installed both their clutch and bakes hoses. As far as the clutch goes, it seemed to make the clutch engage faster (not as much half way engaged time). This might help you with the grinding, but I haven't found that to be the case for myself. I just needed to slow down and get more used to this car. It's a lot different than any other car I've had.
However, with that said, I recommend both. They both improved the feel (Ohhh those brakes are nice!!! :D ).
The only draw back is that I am considering entering the Car and Driver Auto-X thing and the brake hoses count as modification points. It's only 10 points, but it moves me into a modified class. Now instead of competing with Audi TTs and G35 Coupes I'm supposed to hang with M3s, STIs, and Evos. Whoops.
Oh well, at my skill level I won't be out to win anyway.

The clutch hose may help, but it could be a sign of worse problems.
I had the same problem and tried the clutch line, Red Line oils and neither worked. Finally the dealer fixed the problem once it got so bad I could barely get into second above 4k rpms. They ended up replacing most of the tranny and haven't had a problem since.

As for what my clutch looked like? I personally don't know. Also when the dealership fixed my car they couldn't even give me a reason as to why they needed to fix what they did. Click here for info on what they replaced
I don't know anything about this other than my personal experience, and I do know they didn't just give me a new transmission. If they would have I'm sure I wouldn't have been with out my car for over 3 weeks (and I'm sure they would have told me).
