Sports & standard suspension

How can I find out if my car has the standard or sports suspension? It was import so noone knows.

When you replace the brake discs you have the option for standard or sports suspension type. What would the result be if I make the wrong selection?

m/t, import from Japan, rims 19,6 in, don't know what the gt package is. I can say that my car is very stable on curves even at high speed and I feel the suspension hard on rough road but I haven't driven other rx8's to compare.
thanks.

so you have a right hand drive rx8? if its not, then it's just a regular rx8 since all the rx8s were made and imported from japan. well, i have the sports suspension in my rx8 and when i was doing basic maintenance in my car, i noticed that my shocks were tokico. stock shocks. so maybe the standard ones doesn't have tokico? im not too sure. if you told me that your car was a gt, i would tell you that it had sports suspension. you might wanna try going on mazda's website and compare your rx8 to the packages available for the rx8, i.e. compare whether you have a 6 disc cd-changer. check which package your 8 belongs to. that should be able to tell you which suspension you have.

if you have the traction control button on the left hand side under the steering whell, you have sports package.

Yes, its right hand drive, I have a 6-disc changer, moonroof, leather seats, DTC button and AFAIK, import cars have higher power compared to the local ones. I think local rx-8's have 231 bhp and imports have 250 bhp.

thanks for the info
