Something Strange...

Hey all, this has probably been talked about, but I am going to post anyway. So the other night I am sitting at a red light in neutral and my foot off the brake and gas. All of a sudden, the cars idle drops really low and then the car revs itself up to 1.5k. The engine was warm and whatnot but this was strange. I thought the car was going to stall, but then I guess caught itself. Ever since then the idle has been worst. Can't be any gas, I have used the same gas and octane rating since day 1 and the car has 9,XXX on it now. Anybody have a clue?

Thanx in advance.

same here I noticed it more lately. And it has been fairly warm when I notice it. I've always used 93 octane since I bought it and my driving habits haven't changed.

Is your A/C on? It will do that sometimes when the compressor is engaged/disengaged.

there is a micro switch that tells the pcm that you have shifted into neutral. if it sticks the pcm can be a little "confused" about what it should have the engine do. hence the strage jumpy idle. happens too often they will replace the switch

Will resetting the PCM return idle values to default? It might work...
