Cheers,

Congratulations...

What about postage costs? Is there a "pick up" option for the locals?

If all this is too much and will be the site anyway, it's Ok if you just let me wait...just anticipating :D
There will be heaps of screen shots on the web site, so I won' t post them here.

The serial connection runs at 19200 baud. The interface has an internal buffer. Speed is limited by the time it takes for the PCM to respond and also to a lesser effect by the CAN bus.

This version doesn't allow you to make changes.

Edit: Except to clear the MIL/CEL and freeze frame data. I'm still working on the "Add horses" button

I was surprised that there have been no oohs and aahs on this.... I thought this was pretty cool. More frequent data sampling will help give you a more accurate picture of what is going on.

Thanks everyone for your kind words too. Well timbo, at least you were warm - you can take any help you can get this time of year in Canberra right? (I grew up in Wagga Wagga... I know how cold it can get)

Will there be a way to upgrade to the tuner version once it is available or will we have to purchase new hardware/software at full price?

Tuner version is a ways off yet, so it would be innapropriate to promise anything.

That said... The plan is that the current hardware can be used. It would be a software upgrade only if you already had the hardware. We are also looking at using the same hardware to have a version that can re-flash Mazda files (they can be obtained from www.mazdatechinfo.com).

Cheers,
Hymee.

Please stop the footy

On a serious note, to map a reflash to upload with the available hardware, you have to first get the data (map) from the PCM. Have you isolate the info being uploaded by the Mazda WDS and see what they are yet?

Then I guess is to understand and write a program to change it.

Last is to upload and wa la. Tune for every single RX-8 in Australia ... and around the world

.... I just waken up and back to reality.

"Hey Mark and Ross where is my manual, and CD update ?"
