smoking after oil change

I have an 04 sport with a racing beat mid-pipe, rev8 exhaust and k&n intake... obviously i get a bit of smoke time to time with the mid pipe ... and flames .. that is to be expected, but after changing my oil and firing her up she was smoking a little extra than normal. the car was cold when started so she may have been running a little rich due to the temp. I might be overeacting but would appreciate any input. ps I do premix religiously.

Where did you spill the oil

It should burn off if the filter and oil plug are tight....

Check your air filter/ intake tube...if you filled it too fast it runs down the breather line into the intake.....it is a spill...just not one you will see unless you look.

It will likely burn off in a few days

this happens alot when it gets colder and when condensation gets on your cat.. if it really starts to burn white smoke alot. then you have a problem.

if its like this.. then your rotary is gone...

^ He doesn't have a cat, he said he has a midpipe. It may have something to do with the temp, give it a couple of days. Should be fine.

Swoope you were right ... after it got up to operating temp no more smoke, revved hard stil none, went for a 9000 rpm excursion.. still none... I think it had to do with being cold and running a bit rich... soon as she got up to temp perfect... man I love tnat mid pipe with rev 8 combo... wicked soundin!
