I have a 2004 Mazda RX8 and it shuts off on me once in a while and its automatic. sometimes its cause it stays in a high gear when i come to a stop and other times it will shut off. when it does the car starts shaken the lights flicker and then it turns off. when it does that and i start it back up it shakes badly and drives tough. Any reason why its doing this?

 

ok need more info like mileage and what maintenance has been done . also are your battery terminals clean and tight? is your tranny fluid low? check you motor mounts too they may be shot

 

Check your transmission fluid. It's probably really low.
