Should I switch to rotary oil?

I have always gotten my oil changed at the Mazda dealer. I have a 2004 with 70k miles on it. I am thinking of switching to the Idemitsu Rotary oil. http://www.rotorsportsracing.com/per...g/idemitsu.htm

Is this a good idea? Why/why not do this?

Does it meet API Service SL? If not, think hard before you do it.

Definitely a solid oil, but does it have all the components needed for long-term street use? I remember someone mentioning this..? EDIT: Yeah, what Ken mentioned above ^

It can only hurt your wallet. Do it if you want.

Idemitsu is pretty expensive, but as I can see you did "all" your previous service at dealership ... so I guess money will never been an issue for you.

They are good oil. Its just that is not very accessible to everyone.

if anybody local carries Idemitsu I will get it. but nope, no one local has it (as far as I know)

Im ok with Redline, using 10w40 now.

I think 20w50 is too thick for a daily driver......

Do Mazda UK recommend the 10w30 weight?
