Red face Seems that the Major problem with the RX-8 so far is...

...The oil warning light. I get the feeling that the oil warning light comes on after a few hundred miles or so. Am I right?

Hopefully this problem will be fixed by the time I purchase the 2005 model 8.

It's an on-again off-again thing. The first time I saw it I freaked out and pulled into the first gas station and checked the levels. After coming here, it's just a 'tad' touchy and I think at some point it will be remedied by Mazda, but we have more pressing issues (missing power at the top end?) that most are concerned with

Herc, Just curious.....What "rework" sticker do you have? I have 1 hand written sticker with both the FO3 and FO4 mods. No oil light here.

Most all of us have a port "rework sticker. It has a code for what they did, but no 0ne seems to know what it stands for.

this link will help on where to find it.

There are numerous people reporting air conditioner problems. From the warm temperature and the constant cycling from warm to a slightly cooler temperature.
I consider air temperature of 50 degrees coming out the air condition vents a problem. All a/c repair manuals state normal is 35-40 degrees for the vent temperature.

I took my rx8 into the dealer about this low oil light problem after about 1500 miles. They said that Mazda is shipping a new oil pan baffle and sensor to all of the dealerships to install in the already purchased rx8s. Apparently the oil sloshes around a lot and that causes the light to flicker occassionally.
