Hi guys i own a 04 rx8 gt auto but the top speed is 130 it tops out and i was trying to figure out how to increase that .

ps i am a new guy here and new to this rx8

So you're doing alot of high speed track driving right?

130MPH is pretty fast..

Best way to increase your top speed is by increasing your horsepower (getting a turbo + nos.)

You'll have like 450RWHP if you pick the right combo, and your engine will last about a week (if that).

your speedo is lying to you.. the auto tops out at 125. get a gps..

it is limited to 125. what tires do you have on the car..

my car is stock so i have not yet met any upgrades

the tires i am using are the original 18 in ones

and i dont want to go all that way just some minor upgrades like cold air intake n exhaust but i am afraid of getting all that if i am gonna be getting me to 125 like swoope says i wanna go fasssssttttt but not to fast lol

what size are the tires? it would be something like 225 / 45 / 18. so you have a grand touring auto?

so your 04 is stock? has the tires that came on the car?

i dont know much about the auto's but if your PCM limited to 125, because its an auto, then the only way to break that limit is to reflash the PCM i would think...?

Cobb AcessPORT, you can get it from Mazdamaniac. there are a couple threads dedicated to it. There is also Hymee's flash tuner that i think is being sold now? I believe Pettit Racing also has flash tune capability of some sort that they offer for NA cars....

i think the accessport will do it. get it from mazdamaniac..

but i am sure someone with an auto will chime in here.. but for the most part on autos or manuals the hp increases with out fi are slim...

Also, before you do anything to do with your engine management.. Please read up on some information on rotary engines, and just generally look around the forum for technical information... Could save you alot of money.

^^yep. i think the most you can expect with any combination of imaginable bolt ons is ~210(up from the 180 avg dyno)

would this void warranty of my car

i know this is off the subject but i had take my 8 to mazda dealership and they told me the ignition was messed up and my acceleration was not working properly that it was not putting all the horses so they suggested to keep it for a week for a new engine installation, they told me that mazda was fixing all the bugs for all the o4 models

Mazda would definitely claim your warranty is voided. Are they installing a new engine for you? If so, don't bother messing with your flash.

indeed they would take the warrantee for messing with the PCM. But how would they know? theres no way for them to check for that.

thx well they told me if ur gonna put new performance parts to put mazdaspeed parts yea something bout my engine is wrong so they have to put a new one hell how long thas gonna take =(

there is no mazdaspeed anything for tuning.

again, there is no way for them to detect that you have reflashed your PCM

i dont know how long an engine replacement will take them? ask your dealer?

um well there offered me a cold air intake and i have a catalog that show me all the mazdaspeed parts and i am not telling u ur wrong or anything i just have proof

lolz that was a good laugh... everyone here knows what MazdaSpeed offers for parts, they are availible everywhere and at every dealer.

i said they offer nothing for "tuning" as in engine management, which is what we were talking about previously...

Cold air intake doesn't equal higher top speed...

Tuning doesn't equal modding...

Read the forum abit before posting....

Maybe Paul should have said "there are no MazdaSpeed bits that will make the car faster" and then that would include the intake.

add a sticker an you got another 20+

but that still wont get you past that speed limiter in the PCM. for that you need a GT wing
