RX8 recall replacement engine

Hey everyone. I have an 06 RX8 with 62,000 obit that qualified for the recall. They currently have my car and are waiting for the engine to be built and shipped to my local dealership. Is there anything you guys can tell me about these engines that are different? Is there anything I should know that my dealer may not tell me. Has anyone else been through this process?

I joined this forum because it's actuLly my wife's car that she bought before we met and I'm going to be driving it primarily to work so I want to educate myself on these cars as much as possible.

First of all Mazda has not recalled engines of rx8. They just gave an extended warranty of 100,000 miles or 8 years after the production date of your car. If you loose compression and you satisfy the warranty requirements they will give you a new engine. The new engine though is not new in a way...It is a rebuilt engine with functional parts from other broken engines.

Mazda won't tell you a bunch of things....so spend as much time as you can in this forum and learn about your car and rotary engines. The more you know the better you will take care of your car! Take care of the car means more miles in the road!
