RX-8 Tech Manual from Williamperrine.com

Hello everyone,

Im a newbie here and about to pickup my RX-8 on coming Tuesday (if Irene decided not to flood my car)

If anyone is going to buy parts (coils, plugs, wires, oil etc) threre is an auto parts store online is having promotion, Spend $100 you will get $50 towards your next $100 purchase.
I just ordered my plugs and oil, filters there (they suck cos they only allow one coil purchase at a time) so my order was plugs x4 + castrol 10w-40 Jug + oil filter (this combo with additional discount as well.

There is another well known auto part store having online promotion as well, spend $100 get $15 gift card. Got coils and air filter from them :>

Hope it helps if anyone going to DIY tune ups! KY

Your first post is two ads and a link to a copyright pdf.

Right there is strikes one, two and three......

The pdf is just one chapter out of about 14 that comprise the full shop manual.

Does that count as a fourth strike?

But give him credit for not asking an oil question.

The ads automatically created by random keywords via a forum crawler....

So i dont get why he got a 'strike one [and]... two'.

On top of that he was letting people know that AA and AZ are having a sale, and he mentioned it in regards to general maintenance that noobs on a day to day basis struggle to understand.

Very strange response.

Welcome! Bayside is above sea level, and Irene was rather shallow, so your 8 should be just fine. You'll love it - tell us more once he/she's yours.

Right answer on the oil. Guys - give him credit for searching and reading. Wipes out the strikes

How's N.V.? we only had 12 inches of rain and most area is fine with minor flooding only, thank God!

Had experience with my CX-7 and factory "recommended" weight is way too thin and caused problems....... Im going to put 10W-40 Castrol dyno grease on this baby :>

Don't you think a Mod would know the difference between ads that are automatic and user created ads? Don't you think a Mod would have edited out the violations so you wouldn't see them? The main body of the post was left intact for the noobs. AA & AZ coupons can be found with an internet search.

NV came out just fine. Unlike Hampton Roads, which got hammered. I'm west of I-95, and we only got a couple of inches here. Waiting to hear from my daughter in Brooklyn to hear how she made out. She's on high enough ground, inland from the evac zones, but I'd guess power and cell service took a hit.

Good job forming your own opinion on oil, and not getting into a debate with anyone here.

i would have expected that a note or an edit would be made visible to avoid confusion. But then again, I didn't see a 'last edited by..' message, and the link to the pdf was still there, so that surely presented even more confusion on exactly where the violations were.

And although i understand that coupons can be found on the internet, i still appreciate when someone brings things like that to attention ... the statement of "xyz can be found with an internet search" would almost contradict the purpose of 95% of the threads created here...

wasn't looking to cause a problem, just clarification. Surely i wasn't the only one that saw that reply and was like "huh?"

Not that I want to brown-nose or anything, but IMHO the moderators are greatly underappreciated. I thought Al's response was great - a scold for the violations, but gentle and no ban. The result is that we have a cool new member, with whom I've already had a nice conversation. A less wise reaction would have driven him off.
