88,000 miles and strange problems started happening to my '04 8. Took it to the dealership, did a compression test and found it to be low.

A couple days later they call back and tell me Mazda has approved an engine replacement. Should get it back today with a new engine, new motor mounts, clutch, starter and the stupid antifreeze overflow tank.

Will let everyone know how it runs after getting it back on the road. Looks like I get another 3 or 4 years out of my 8!

You get new clutch, starter, mounts and anti freeze tank? Mine has been at mazda almost 4 weeks for new engine and they didnt say anything about none of that lol. Im under the impression im just getting the engine. I know I get new mounts and core though...

 

You would have to purchase those parts additionally and the labor will be free to install. Atleast for the clutch and coolant reservoir I know for sure.
