RX-8 Series 1 Oil Pressure Gauge Instrument Panel Real or Fake?

I have NC3 Club Miata and all NC comes with fake needle that is dances to RPM and coolant temperature, shuts down whenever oil pressure switch drops below 7 PSI.

I replaced it with real analogue OPG and used analogue sender in place of OE switch.

Is the OPG on RX-8 fake? Is that why it is gone in Series 2 IP?
On a side note, can series 2 IP switch over to series 1 ECU etc? I was told IP can switch between cars (of same series) because the computer security is not locked to IP
Thanks

Fake. Its driven by a signal from the ECU so you can't just wire another sender to it.

I don't think you can swap an S2 IP, keep in mind its all driven via CANBUS, not dedicated wires per gauge.
But you can experiment, who knows...
