RX-8 Clutch, flywheel, clutch bearings

Good day,
I've managed to get my hands on an RX-8 2007 GS Edition for quite a cheap price,
Although the transmission is completely dead *The fly wheel + clutch + clutch bearings *

So I would like about how much am I looking for to get this fixed, and also should I go with OEM parts or street performance parts?

Honestly would like to put a little bit more cash and have better quality/performance parts... But if you guys think it would be a waste of cash, i'll rethink my situation.

Thanks!

Unless you are planning on going with FI, just go with OEM. OEM parts are more than capeable of handling the engine, and there have been known issues with aftermarket tranny parts, especially the clutch. With 9/10 parts that you have on the car, OEM parts are going to be the best, that's just how awesome they made this car.

If you have a dealer do it, you will be scammed. Go to BlackHaloRacing.com (Exedy Factory Clutch Kit, RX-8 | Black Halo Racing) and buy the factory clutch kit (NOT The Exedy Stage1, it has quality control issues, see here: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-tro...clutch-244381/). The price is better than you will find elsewhere, and you will get everything you need. BHR's price is "shipped", and he even includes the pilot bearing seal, which many other kits do not.

If you want to replace the flywheel, he has flywheel options as well, however you may just be able to get the flywheel resurfaced.

If you are paying a shop to do the work, expect a labor bill of around $400-$500, depending on their labor rates. It's a fairly simple job, so if you want to tackle it yourself in your garage or driveway, that is an option too. I did it all 3 times on my 8.
