Rust on Endplates

Rust on Endplates
Well, I got my engine apart to see if it's still good for a rebuild - On the width test my rotor housing measured a 1.2mm difference so I need to replace those - however my question is on the endplates.
My endplates have a small amount of rust buildup - since rusting has started it's time to chuck them and just scrap the project? or remove the rust and go on, I'm not sure if the small amount of rust that was there will affect compression enough to be worried about.
Thanks

OK, I will answer some of your info..
Generally you should have your irons..cleaned up, usually by face machining (IMO the best way) however there are tolerances as to how much can be taken off during this process, sorry, I can't remember the numbers.
Again, I do not know your history, I guess you have re-built rotaries before?.
I suggest you PM (or wait) for guys like RG (rotarygod), Paul from Mazmart, or Charles from BHR who have actually done RENESIS re-builds...to post up some idea's.
They will be able to instruct you.
As you know don't do it the "cheap" way, cutting corners is not something I like to see as invariably you will have "issues" occurring after a few miles of use that could have been prevented.
So, sorry I really have not helped, but these members are your best bet..

Thanks for your input bro :D
No experience on rebuilding rotaries however i'm very comfortable with the process and have machining experience and access to a shop for lapping - i just wasnt sure if the small pits by rust would be a major issue in the compression.
The rebuild was gonna be more of a learning experience since i want to learn how to rebuild the engine, however i think i'm just gonna go the more financially better road and just get a different engine
Time to turn those old rotor housings into display cases
