Royal Purple Oil
OK. I'm going to switch my oil this weekend to Royal Purple...
What's the best way to remove ALL the Dino Oil that's currently in my 8?
Should I:
Run the engine for a while (to heat up the oil) or do it cold?
Jack up the car on the drivers or passengers side?
Run a Qt. of Royal Purple through the engine before I replace the drain plug?
PS: It's OK to flame me, its a retarded question. I want to get as much of the old oil out as I can...

i think you need to drain both oil coolers AND the engine housing to fully drain whatever old oil that was in the engine... if it was me, i would just do another oil change in a very short interval (< 1000 miles ) and know that i have more than 2/3 of the oil in the system to be fresh Royal Purple :o

No easy way......
With about 3 quarts stuck in the coolers, there is no easy solution.
I would try draining, then filling with good 5W20 oil, just up to the lower mark on the dipstick, and run for a while, then drain and refill with your RP, to the "full" mark.
I still wouldn't try extended oil change intervals,
a/ because half the oil isn't RP, and
b/ because it's a rotary!

Oil Injection
Drive the car for about 20 mins, make sure the oil is nice and hot. Then park it, wait about 5 mins and jack the car up.
Drain the oil from the pan, till its totaly empty. Then change the filter. Fill it with a 5w20 SEMI-SYN oil, then drive around again for 20 mins, park, let it sit 5 mins, drain it again and change the filter.
Now fill it with Royal Purple, Change the filter, Drive it for 20 mins, park it, let it sit for about 5 mins and check to make sure the oil is at the full mark...if its not top it off with more Royal Purple.
Sure doing this will cost you an extra 10-20 bucks, and some time....but you only have to do it once, and its not much compared to the cost of the RP. After about 2 more oil changes over the next 6k miles, you should be full of mostly Royal Purple.

but royal purple is safe to use on the renesis. Royal Purple has done specific tests on the renesis, and the engine works perfectly fine, and it has better performance than the regular oils.

Guys, Please do not use 5w20 oil on your rotary engines. You will destroy them ! Use 10w30 Royal Purple. I got my buddy from Australia to send me the recommeded oil viscosities, and most places in Canada the US should be using 10w30oil. 5w30 is only recommended for very cold climates which I doubt people actually drive their rx8 in. And 5w20 is only recommended if its the special formulation MAZDA oil.
The reason for Mazda Canada and US recommending 5w20 is due to Ford's involvement in Mazda, and its cheaper for them to have one oil than a bunch of different ones. It was also an attempt to try to get badly designed ineffecient Domestic engines to get better fuel consumption by using super thin oil which inherantly causes less drag internal to the engine. They really don't care if your engine doesn't have adequate protection, and are going on the gamble that most engines will still last to the 100,000km mark before failing even with oil that is too thin. Just do your own homework and you'll quickly discover that one of the best oils to use is a 10w30 weight oil. Why not a broad range like 5w50 ? Well the wider the viscosty range the more polymers the oil has in it and that reduces the quality of the oil.
