But I can only speak of my own experience
Oh, and maybe you didn't redline your motor enough.

Your quoting yourself, but I'll assume your talking to me. You have no idea how I drive. See my sig, I do know about rotaries.

It was an attempt at being funny. It's the first thing people say when rotaries die. I know you have been an avid rotary owner. It just annoys me how people buy into marketing BS.

My Last oil change was Mobil1. 0w40

See if my motor will blow in 20-30 K miles. Im on 48.9 K right now.

maybe the guy behind rotary was talking about Mobil1 was the cause of motor failure 30 something years ago? lol

They actually do. I know the NAARA Viper Racing League guys use it. A lot of guys at NASA and SCCA use it.
I know because I go to the track and road race with some of those guys and that's where I picked up the habit.

Here is my take on royal purple as i have used it for 2 and a half years on the 8 and just switch to quaker. Royal purple is great for when your about to go to competitions but as a use for daily driving its not so great. what i noticed was that everytime you cold start the car the engine is completely dry, there is no oil in there and it eventually creates a very noticable ticking from the engine and the ticking does not go away till you have been driving for about 30 minutes afterwards. The oil composition seems to be too thin for the 8 and might cause problems if used for a long term.

I currently have 50k miles and have used RP since the first oil change but now i prefer not to because i worry of the engine being damaged from everytime i cold start the car. But after I switched to a different brand of synthetic i no longer have that fearful ticking and the car seems to appreciate it more and run smoother.

Also another thing is RP is around 40 dollars for 5 quarts after taxes while the quaker state synthetic is 20 bucks at walmart and during these times that 20 bucks in savings can help pay for gas for a week which i appreciate very much.
