Rev Limiter Beeper?

What is the rev limit for the high power model (UK)? I have been up around the 9K mark a few times but cannot hear the warning beep. How loud is the beeper?

Regards Peter

If it's anything like the US model, it should kick in at 8500... and it isn't very loud at all (try it with the windows up and the stereo off). Fuel cut's at 9500.

You *learn* to hear the beep after a while, but it is subtle...

agree with winter above.

Yeah, if the windows are down or the stereo is turned on you'll really have to strain to hear it under all that noise. Trust me though, it's there. I've heard it a few times so far but I don't think I've ever reached the fuel shut off at 9500.

Not only does a loud stereo keep you from hearing the beep, it also drowns out the sound of the engine. The remaining non-visual indication that a shift is due would be vibration but that's not really in evidence with the smooth rotary. Unlike most cars that are rather put out anywhere near the redline, the RX gives little indication of distress. It does seem to get slightly winded as you crest 8500 but I still can't pick that up reliably enough to shift by. If you've got tunes blasting and the hammer down you really need to pay attention to the tach.

had th ebeep go off several times. it reminds me of when a phoen goes off faintly in another room of your hosue and you say to yourself ; did it ring? or am I hearign things? you really have to try to hear it if your windows are down and radio is up. however with windows up and radio on you will hardly hear it. Ideal scenario is no music windows up and it' sclear as a bell at 9k.

Has anyone come up with a mod that could turn the volume up on the beep?
