Reset Warning lights, CEL, in Mazda Rx8 2005

I need to reset the CEL on my rx8, it was because it needed some oil, so changed the oil and replace the filter. I read on a few places and also here that the light will not go away until I reset it.

Anyone know how?

If someone else posted this already and I am sure someone has, sorry. I searched for it but nothing came up, just stuff that didn't work.

Are you sure you didn't just mix-up a CEL for the Low Oil light?
Can't think of any CEL codes related to fluid level.

If its actually a CEL, disconnecting the battery for ~10min will clear it.

Yes - do share what code it sets for "Need some oil".

Also you might share how the engine got so low so quickly that it noticed before you did. That's always a good story.

I had an oil leak and scheduled tune up 2 days later. So in the meantime, I didnt know I had a leak until the oil light came on, so I filled it, found the leak was from a drain plug gasket and took the wires off my battery. Light went away and I had plenty of oil on hand before the tuneup date. You should always check your oil every other fuel up though. This will prevent your light from coming on.

CEL is check engine light. Did you mean that or something else?
