Not quite sure what piece you are talking about? Is it painted from the factory? If you know nothing about paint and bodywork, it's best to leave it to the people that do it day in and day out...if you lived closer i'd take a look at it for you.

Good luck

I think he is referring to the Undertray / Undercover, it is not hard to replace.

The link I posted in my first reply contained photos and info about how to get one. I suggest you read that thread there isn't a way to fix a broken undertray, you just get a replacement.

Ok thank you for the engine under cover stuff im getting one of those ordered this weekend and i'm going to try to install it myself. So i may need a little more help but at later point. Now the next thing is i had a hit-and-run last week and seeing as i am 16 i don't want my insurance to go up so i was just going to try to install it my self. I can find plenty of them on eBay for 145 (which beat the dealers estimate by 180 dollars plus their total came out to 700 dollars with install) which sounds like a reasonable price to pay though i wanted to know how hard it would be to install the rear bumper and of course remove it first and what all hardware i would need.

^ the rear bumper is not difficult to remove/replace but takes a bit more time than the front bumper due to having to remove the tailights and exhaust surrounds.

btw: be sure to replace the foam 'padding' on the bumper strut if it's compressed as well. If it's compressed and you don't replace it you have much less impact protection.

ok we are finally getting to the end of this ok now that i know how to replace my rear bumper where is the best place to get one because if i got to a shop the charge my 450 with the painting job and clear coat, though i look at eBay and they offer one for 145 free shipping and pre-painted(i have a 2006 dark silver or grayor charcole gray rx8 standard paint) so what should i do and if neither of these options are good please suggest another location
