Removal stock spoiler

Sorry if this is Re-post, but I was searching searching and couldn't find any info.

So I decided stock spoiler needed to go, not the 90's anymore.

1. Open trunk to reveal 4 screws where the spoiler connect to the trunk, 2 on each side.

2. They are dual phillips and nut screws, they were pretty tight so I needed to use a socket and wrench to get them loose because the phillips was slipping

3. After you removal all 4 you need to pull and I mean PULL! There are 2 snap brackets, if there is a gentler method by all means but I brute forced my way through this part.

4. As for the whole plugs aka deletes etc the best I found that required the least amount of work and "customizing" via cutting or whatever are nylon "hole plug locking". Can be found at home depot etc

5. You will need 4x 3/8" ones and 2 x 5/16" that fit perfectly.

6. Apply 2 coats of your cars color to the top of the hole plugs and voila! home made delete plugs that cost $3, you can apply glue at rim when you insert.

Hope this helps all y'all

...and you'll end up with six plugs on your trunk lid. Not exactly the prettiest sight.
I think I'd rather keep my spoiler.

should remove the lip spoiler of a 95/96 eagle talon once huge 2inch hole, fill that!!

but if your going to remove the spoiler because its so "1990s" then get it filled right ether fiberglass or body work and get it painted. I wouldn't want to run around with "plugs" in a car like this, honda yes, volkswagon yes, rx8 no

and i plan on taking my spoiler off but its going to be replaced with a MazdaSpeed one.

but thanks for the heads up on the removal of the stocker.

Pulling the spoiler off after removing the 4 bolts, may or may not work without breaking something. This is what Racing Beat has to say about it:

^ That method doesn't work well. I couldn't get the plastic snaps loose either with the RB technique or by pulling. Instead, I taped over most of a hacksaw blade, slid it under the bracing for the trunk lid, and sawed through the plastic fastener. Either because of vibration or yanking the spoiler around trying to get it off, the trunk top paint came out scarred. As a temporary fix, I cut a piece of vinyl to a size a little larger than the spoiler mounting base to cover the scars and waterproof the now unused hole for the plastic fastener. Pics below.
