So I'm just trying to make sure you are being informed accurately.
When the car overheated I pulled off at the next exit, shut the car off and pulled out my ODB reader and got a code for temp sensor. I then called AAA to have the car towed, when the truck driver got there he cranked the car and drove it on the bed. Got it to the shop, cranked it and drove it off. (I'm sort of mad about that because I know you're not supposed to shut the car off until its heated up but I wasn't there, my fiance was.) I got a call from the shop about 3 hours later and was told there was a leak in the radiator and that caused the overheating. He then said "I decided to do a block test and it looks like the motor is bad". (I thought is strange that he would do that for no reason, but that's a topic for another day). When I finally got the car back to my house it wont even crank now.

Sort of a long story so that is the condensed version.

Does a block test mean like a chemical test for exhaust gases in the coolant?
When you say it won't crank, like the starter won't turn, or it turns but the engine doesn't fire up?

To be completely honest I'm not sure what he did as a "block test", that is just what he said to me. As far as cranking, when I turn the key the starter does engage but the motor doesn't even seem to try.
