Rear lowering spring install problem

I'm trying to install my rear lowering springs. I cannot get the 14mm nut off of the sway bar link. It just spins and I can't get my vice grips in there to try and hold it. Anyone have tips for removing the links?

As an alternative, if I can't get the end links off, can I remove the 4 12mm bolts that hold the entire sway bar to the chassis and still be able to have room to remove the strut/spring assembly?

Allen/Hex key inside the stud and use an open ended/box ended wrench to loosen the nut. Alternatively I don't like messing with my end links when taking out the rear shocks. I just unbolt the rear sway bar brackets and lower the entire sway bar with the links still attached. Its way easier.

I don't see anywhere to put an allen or hex key. I just unbolted the entire sway bar. There was enough room to get the job done without removing the links. Although, I would like to eventually replace the links. The rubber is rotted and torn.

Here's before and after. Tanabe GF210 springs on OEM shocks.

The Allen goes inside the shaft of the bolt that the nut is on. You have to use an open ended wrench or one of the newer open socket/ratchet things they have now
