Random Hanging Wires?

Hello,

As i'm washing the car with the hose, some wires which were obviously not fixed to anything sort of dropped, and are now hanging below my rear bumper. Both individual wires, look to have been cut then poorly put back together with electrical tape.

I'm not quite sure what they go to, I pulled the electric tape off of both and un-wired them. Nothing happened.. I hooked them back up, started the car again with headlights on, put my rubber gloves on and un-hooked them and then rewired again to no obvious prevail..

I do have a right "always on" tail light out, but It doesnt seem relevent to this equation.

Maybe somebody can shine some light on what these wires lead to? Picture is below.

Thanks for your time,

Cant see much fron them the picture but it might be the number plate light wires. Does the number plate light work. The exhaust has an earthing strap/wire but that should be on the drivers side of the exhaust.

Yep...the only wires OEM that are long enough to hang down are the licence plate light

Otherwise it could be a "rear foglight in the rotor thing" mod that was taken out

You know what, stupidly I did not even check the license plate lights. Apologies for the picture, I'll try to get better ones up if it wasnt the license plates.

Heres a better question for the rx8 electrical savy persons, all of my tailights work except the reverse and extra "always on" on the right tail light. This is simply burned out bulbs because they are working on the other side correct?

Thanks for the prompt response guys, its very much appreciated.

Not exactly sure on the wiring setup of the Rx8 but typically the left and right bulbs run on different fuses which means when a fuse does blow you will still have one light working. 1st thing to check is the bulb, then the fuse, then maybe a relay or wiring. Just open it up and swap the left bulb with the right one and you will know if it is working.
