quick tail light question

quick tail light question

hey hopefully someone can answer quick cuz i gotta go, so im fixing my tail light right now, and i got all the sitting water out and everything and all thats left is the fog, will that go away if i put the tail light back on or do i need to wait and leave it in the sun? thanks

Leave it in the sun....

Better yet, take out the bulbs and blow a hairdryer in for 10 to 15 mins. The TSB says *no heat*.

i even put mine in my oven at a very low heat. i would not recommend it unless you are very confident in what you are doing and be sure to check on it a lot.

I actually tried that at first.
I first left it outside for several hours and when I still had droplets at the bottom, I tried to use a hair dryer and that didn't work well at all.
Any remaining water in the taillight will just fog-up the lens after reinstalling (fought with it enough to know).

In the end, I drilled three very small hole in the bottom of the light assembly.
Not in the clear lens, but the black bottom side almost against the lens.
I also drilled them in places where it is very hard to see.
Two are near both corners and one is under the large round brake ring.
You really can't tell that they are there.

Its been a few years since I've done it and never had condensation since.
