Besides the ovious (right hand drive) what are the other differences between a US spec and a Japanese domestic market RX-8?
Do the J-spec cars have evaporative emmissions systems?
What about headlights, taillights etc, any differences there?
Any options available only to US or JDM cars?
Any other differences?

Some models (european as I recall) don't have cruise control, but are available with auto climate control, rear fog light, outside mirror lights, & rear lip spoiler. Clear corners are standard on those models too.

Indeed, all RX8 with Xenon headlights have washers.

 

These are some of the specs on a JDM RX8 Type S:

250ps, manual height adjustment for headlights, clear corners with indicator lights, climate control, wing mirror lights, no sunroof, speed limited to 187kmh (116 mph).

 

OUTSIDE the US. US models with Xenon/HID headlamps do not have washers.

 

are the tailights any different in the Jspec cars?

 

Canadian 8s have headlight washers but NOT TPMS. Visa versa for US 8s.

 

Has anyone looked into getting the non-US climate control and retrofitting it? Thats about the only "missing" feature I'd like on my car..

 

we dont get auto-climate either..i would have liked that feature
