Unhappy Proplem after Oil change (( 8 is geting nasty on me ))

well i went to the dealer to day and got an Oil change that’s all i asked for, after they are done with my car i get in start the car and the tech guy was talking to me and all the sudden My car revs its self to 3500k And stays their and went down after like 10 seconds, 5 seconds later it dose it again but this time it went to 1k 2k 3k 4k and stayed at 4k so we shut the car off waited and started it again in a few seconds. then the problems came back.

any ways i had to leave and i got an appointment for tomorrow but now i got the Check Engine light ON SOLID and my warranty has expired like 3k mils ago ..

i do not remember or know if they have changed the spark plugs on my 45k service or the 35k service i always look and keep the RO's (( paper work )) but nothing in their.

things that i have done to the car lately are 1-new battery 2 new front break pads 3rd and that’s to day oil change and i decided to clean the K&N filter that’s in the car thinking that would cure it but no after 10hrs i get the CEL on Solid now . And i don’t know what should i do since my warranty has expired 3k mils ago .

any HELP Or Suggestion would be greatly appreciated in trying to solve or cure the problem or even dealing with the dealer if they have MESSD Up my car.

First thing that comes to my mind is that a vacuum line may have come loose....make a visual check that no hoses or plugs or wires are hanging unplugged, and then have the guys at the dealer check the code(s).

It may turn out to be just a little thing.....otherwise, if something has broken/burnt, then if your warranty is over, I'm afraid you don't have any other choice but to blame it on the dealer's guys...

check all the vacuum hoses, they may have accidentally unhooked one.

Any loss of power? Weird smells? Leakage?

Next thing you can try is resetting the ecu or uplugging the battery overnight

Sounds like they did a ****-poor job of changing the oil

If you can't see anything obviously out of place, then just go to the dealer and tell them that since you got the car back from them, it's not running properly (if at all), you got the CEL (find out why and what), and that their technician acknoledged the problem the day before.

You shouldn't have much trouble pinning it on them, if it indeed turns out to be a problem....oh, and don't go disconnecting anything, you might end up losing the upper hand in this deal...

If they were that klutzy perhaps they overfilled the oil and some of it ran down the intake pipe where it contaminated the MAF/IAT sensor. Check the oil level. Did you see oil in the intake pipe when you worked on the air filter?

Also, if you overoiled the K&N filter, the MAF/IAT sensor may have gotten oiled from that. Do a search on the forum for information on how to check for a contaminated MAF/IAT sensor.

well after all this BS they blamed it on the K&N Filter they say because it flows too much Air in hmmmm hade the K&N filter in my car for the last 45k mils and now they Blame it on the intake filter + they could not retrieve and CEL CODS because it went out when they worked on the car,

for some reason this sounds not right at all weird if you want to say that but the car is fine for now so if it started doing it again well i have to deal with them.

K&N "filters" are crap anyway, you should get an OEM filter.

That is the biggest bunch of crap I have ever heard. It is once again another dealer trying to get out of taking responsibility for their repairs. I would have laughed in their face if they would have told me that.

i really need to resolve this man i did every thing that i can yesterday i clean the Intake/maf sensor it run good for a while their was Just a lil oil in the intake after the sensor, am thinking their maybe something wrong with the throttle body controller but am about to take a look at it the CEL is back ON now RPM still hits 4k when am driving and not driving it, by its self.

Let me explain it in more details.

I start the car and usually it stays close to the 1.5 k rpms or a lil higher so I leav and go do what I need to do in the car 30-40 min later it starts getting nasty am driving and all the sudden it starts to go faster with out me touching the gas pedal, I slow down and it stops then when am at a stop light the RPMS start going from 850 to 1k 2k 3k 4k and sites their till I tap the peal a lil and some times it wont go away its really annoying. I never had any thing going on like that not even my old cars,

Maybe the car is telling me something it needs to be driven more aggressively and harder rather than driving it nice and Easy >??? I don’t know

Thank you guys for the Input to this Problem that am having .

yea i would think u have a bad TPS throttle position sensor..... possibly a bad neutral safety switch.... hey when they changed ur oil see if any wires or anything is possibly hooked around ur pedal..... or whats connected to it.....or since our engine are throttle by wire... they mightve fucked that up...... could be that have mazda check that out..... u know oil change techs there prown to ****** **** up, thus the reason why i do my own oil changes....
