Problems shifting into 4th
Lately, when I've been redlining in 3rd gear (about...85 mph or so) and shifting into 4th, the gearbox usually grinds at 4th if I make a quick shift. The stick also seems to vibrate A LOT when I'm at around 8500 rpms in 3rd gear. Shifting into 4th at normal speeds is fine.
Would switching tranny fluids help? I did learn manual on my 8, and my dad sort of re-learned it too, so I guess it's due for a change. I'm just wondering if there's anything else I should try to do, or if anybody has any suggestions.
I don't feel like searching right now either

Mine is exactly the same. I don't have the vibe in third though. I have changed the gearbox oil too.
I just shift at 7500 or less when I go into fourth.

I vote that its a common thing too... my wife's car doesn't shift as smootly as I would think it would/should either. In fact I often tell her it is one of the worst sticks I've ever driven. If you are puttering along it does great, try to do a little snappy driving and you grind gears in spite of sync'd rpm's/clutch down, miss shifts... I wouldn't race anyone with her car that's for sure.

I tried it again today with the intention of making a good shift. I gave a tighter grip and spent a few more tenths of a second on the clutch before making the shift. It only grinded a little, not as much.
I guess the perfect fix would be the RP short shifter to make the shifts more precise.
