Yeah, you should have known this!It's very similar to the Honda S2000 and Toyota MR2 Spyder - electric assist instead of hydraulic assist.

It is not steer by wire, but rather electric assist (similar to hydraulic assist but easier to control IMHO, plus no mess).

Neat eh? Pretty new stuff but I think GM has already been doing this on some model or other.
BTW is the Rx8 throttle by cable or wire? If it's not by wire they should get a clue from GM on this one too - might give them more control over dealing w/ flooded engines!
