power loss after ??? km's

feed back pls. has any one experienced this? i've had my 8 since 19.000 km's bought with the original 18'' rims. since then have stuck 20'' rims on, and definetly felt the difference. less power. but the 8's now on 85.000 km's now and is seeming to be feeling more lazy. she is a daily runner, never given a days problem and gets a good run/burn daily, never missed a service, good oil, does any 1 know when the motor starts deteriorating. a rotary tuner here in S.A told me the motor needs to b re done any thing from 100.000km's up. she idles fine, smooth rpm range, red lines fine, still sounds great... does any one know the most amount of km's some one has gotten with their 8? not a bench test.

Some suggestions:
1) Check main cat
2) Ignition Coils?
3) Clean MAF sensor.
4) Search

Took me 30 seconds to understand some of ur stuff

20"s are too heavy. Bigger Wheels does not mean it will be better. You're just adding more useless weight to your car.

Is your 8 Auto ? Have you Rev it once in a while ?

And could you please help me to pass this message to your "Rotary Tuner" ?

"You can go suck it since you dont know **** about Rotary, Alright?"

Some people has over 100,000 MILES (not km) on their Rotary and still running strong.

thanx 4 the reassurance of the amount of km's i dont haved to worry about. if u read carefully, i said ''i know the 20''s add more weight and r a bigger which did slow down the 8 when i fitted them. all in plan fo when i turbo my 8. '' i also posted a ''burning white'' thread in the photo gallery section. and mentioned i rev her high almost all the time after she's warmed up. 6 spd manual.

Hey phat8

I noticed around the time of my 70000km service that my engine also became a bit lazy. At around that time I was also reading about resetting the long term fuel trim codes stored in the ECU, so I thought I may just give it a try - perhaps it'd got me stuck on a "not enough fuel" sorta setting, so I performed the reset (turn ignition to on and press brake pedal 20 times within 8 seconds - oil pressure guage should swing to middle and back) and found that my butt dyno definitely thought the car was going like she used to...

Give it a shot...
