in fact read the thread in similar threads below. megareds is one of the folks that has mazda on record as saying they will cover flooding. now Mazda will say its on a case by case basis but they have to PROVE your case is different.

I don't understand how they could blame your car flooding solely on your K&N filter. I smell bullshit.

went to dealership with the cz install didn't do anything, just be cool with them and they leave you alone. I usually go with some donuts (back when getting flashes done was a hassle)

My dealer is cool as hell. Here is the deal... go in once with your crap on. If they dont give you any crap you write two letters. One to mazdaNA and the other to the dealership thanking them for thier great service. After that, everytime you go in write these two letters. You will become their favorite customer, and they will never give you any crap about your car. Ask me how I know :D .

Go to another dealer and write a letter to mazda NA telling them about the crap service you got there. If you have AAA they will tow the car for you, if not, call MAzda roadside assistance and ask them to tow your car, because the dealer its at is refusing to service your vehicle under warranty.

Slavearm....

Just reading crap like this gets me all pissed off.

Well , bad news, they are making me pay cause they already did the service ... pretty pissed, I'mma call mazda NA and speak to them .. I confroted John from 128 mazda today and said the error code with the crank starter or w/e goes on when you take out the battery NOT when you have an intake and it has nothing to do with air fuel ratios , he just got mad cause now he knows I found his response was bullshit , and hes trying to cover it up with "Don't EVER come back to our dealership! , We will not service your vehicle ! Your vehicle is highly modified! " , I said what ever ... I'm going to mazda gallery next time and having MAzda NA call his manager and get me a refund ...

He asked me where I know that the error code is only from battery , I said people from rx8club , he said rx8club people are a bunch of dumbasses ..... THen he says he doesn't give a **** about me and that NO he will not cover it with warranty and hung up ...

Funny cause hes the service writer ... I thought it wasn't his decision ... Service manager will be in tomorrow ... Gonna talk to him ....

Again this is 128 mazda "Massachusetes #1 service department" as rated on mazda's site .... Bullshit ! They got fast service but they lie like ************* .... they said my brake squeeks was from my intake and exhaust increasing power to the car !

I only went in with intake exhaust body kit , and tein s-techs and they say my car is highly modified!! wow ..... they are retarded .... I'm going to call mazda NA , whats their phone number ? is it on the mazda site ?

Well, if you red from the other thread, they are lying or making stuff up like crazy ..... "brake pads can't be replaced, your warranty is voided because of extra power from intake and exhaust" "We will not service you at our service center after this one "

" Your car is highly modified!"

Wow .. maybe they only look at things .... intake exhaust and body kit and tein Stechs ... highly modified ? I think not .... not coming back ? I won't lol,

This is 128 mazda ... I made a good review before ... but they are **** .... they are fast ... but don't know anything about cars, sloppy jobs ... found oil in my engine chassis last time cause they probably didn't fill it right.

They said I have to goto the dealership and set up an appointment to see the district service manager to settle this. Wow this blows ... All for an intake and flood. Bullshit ... mazda gets a F for service ... **** me off ....

Another wards, MNAO can't do jack , they said noone can void the service managers decision.

Oi, doesn't seem like you're getting lucky with this one. With all due respect, don't act surprise, if you play you got to pay, its a part of the game. Everyone knows if you modify a car period the chances of you being covered by your warranty is close to being out the window. If they haven't already flagged you, take it to another dealership and get it done there.

The intake has nothing to do with the brake issue..sounds to me like they are just blowing smoke up your tail..

When you call MNAO back tell them you want to set up an appt with the district rep.

As far as I'm concerned if they can't prove it's your fault they could have run the entire thing under warranty.

sorry if it seems there is some redundancy in the posts now. i merged his 2 threads into this one.

like snap-on said the intake has nothing to do with the brakes

1. because one doesnt have anything to do with the other
2. even if their arguement was correct, which its not, they would still be wrong since the intake isnt making any more power anyway. its just making more noise!!

K and n intake caused my rx8 to run poorly removed it and returned to stock . I had problems at 6k RPM also at full power 102 MPH. Computer does not seem to compensate for air flow... good luck

yes that is true. the typhoon is not properly tuned for the car and causes rough idle and other things in many cars. however it is not the cause of his flood nor the cause of his brake issue. the computer can does and will compensate for more airflow in a properly designed intake.

Hmmmz , I'mma just write a letter to the district manager , if that doesn't work , then fock it , 128 mazda can kiss my *** lol, anyone know what to write? Just state my story ? Then how do I explain that they need to prove that the intake flooded the engine ? And how the intake cannot cause the engine to flood ? And also the idiot john called me up lol ...

" I got pictures of your engine and the intake ,theres no way your going to get it through the warranty"

Oh ya does anyone have the TSB about the K&N causing rough idle ? Imma print that also and highlight and say it says nothing about it causing flooding

dude there is no tsb on the typhoon. TSBs are bulletins sent to the service people concerning problems with stock components of the car. Mazda would never issue a service bulletin about an aftermarket part.

get a leter from k&n stating that their intake will not cause the the engine to flood.

edit: on second thought you dont need to. mazda knows their was/is flooding with some cars. thats part of the reason for the various PCM flashes. so there is a known problem with their product. second they have to prove that the typhoon caused the flooding. you dont have to prove it didnt. their has not been any reference that i have seen on this site to typhoons causing flooding issues. so they wont be able to prove it. really if it did we would have seen it on this site.

here read this

Iono how I can get along with a RX-8 with you zoom and rotary god and the others , you guys are truly amazing , got an appointment with the service manager and I am getting a letter from K&N since I knew the guy (K&N technician manager) from hot import nights and he seemed to be cool.

Thanks for everyone's help
