PCM - no communication

So I've got a CEL, which AutoZone tells me is the downstream O2 sensor. My father (mechanic) has tried to use two different ODB/PCM/whatever readers to get the exact code # and reset it; but both won't communicate with the car. Each has its own way of saying "unable to communicate with car". BUT AutoZone doesn't seem to have this problem with their readers.

Does the RX8 have a silly PCM? Could I have a problem? Could my father's readers be incompatible?

Because it is CAN/whatever, not OBD/PCM/whatever.

How old is your father's reader ?

Any generic OBD II Reader that supports CAN bus can read and reset codes.

why would you want to reset it anyway? it has a problem, it's telling u that, erase the code will not fix ur problem, it will keep coming back until u fix it.

Cool

You already found that the ECU talks fine to Autozone, why do you now suggest the ECU is silly?
