Which Optima battery is a direct replacement?

There are two that have reversed polarity:

the Optima Red Top Group 35 battery
http://www.batteriesareus.com/shop/p...products_id=61

Model: 35
Color red
Terminal top post (reversed)
Volts 12
AH 44
AMPS @ 32F 910
CCA @ 0F 720
Reserve Capacity 90
Length 9 - 5/16"
Width 6-13/16"
Height 7-5/8"
Weight 31.7

and the Optima Red top R800R Reversed

http://www.batteriesareus.com/shop/p...products_id=33

for which I can't find specs but am guessing is slightly bigger with 800 CCA (I'm like Sherlock Holmes, eh?)

Does anyone know if either or both is a direct drop-in replacement?

Would either be prefered for some reason?

TIA,
Mike

Did you go to your dealer for the warranty 660 CCA replacement battery?

No, do you just have to ask for it or do you have to have some sort of failure first?

I'll pay the $100 to replace the battery up front over risking a dead battery and being stranded somewhere.

I just called the dealer ( service mgr.) and told them I had heard there was a warranty replacement battery available. They said they would check and called back 10 min. later to tell me I was correct and to bring it in as they had battery in stock. They said to tell the service writer I had hard starting problems, which I did have anyway.

That's cool. I am surprised that they would just replace the battery without some sort of demonstrated problem, as warranty stuff is often like pulling teeth. Maybe Mazda got tired of flatbedding all the flooded RX-8's. I guess I'll give it a try tomorrow. Thanks!
