Only changing front coilover and shock

Is it good to change ONLY the front coil over and shock and leave the rear ones stock? I just wanted to know if the two different shocks at different specs would not be wise.

Why on earth would you do that to begin with?

My guess would be budget constaints. But that's only a guess. Can you do it? Yes. Is it good? No. Is it okay for a short while until new rears go in? Maybe.

Trying to get that 70'2 Camaro Street-Rod look? :p

The rear spring rates are even more important than the front in agressive driving - under accelleration, that is where all the weight goes.

I wouldn't do it. How will that save any money, anyway? Springs are sold in sets.

The main reason I was asking was really because of $$ (someone guessed that right) and the second reason is, after I had put on my MS skirts and front bumper .. I noticed the rear sits lower, or the wheel spacing is lower on the rear than the front. Its prolly because of the rear wheel drive and the force is receives during acceleration. I just know that the front gap is way higher than the rear. Perhaps its the tire replacement kit.

I will confirm my paranoia w/ the sunnyvale meet tonite, so I can get second opinions on this. Unless others have noticed this too?

How does acceleration force affect static ride height when the car is parked?

C'mon guys, if this thread is going to be responded to w/ sarcasm, what's the point of posting?!

Geez, PURNRG, if you can't seriously see my point, just ask and don't be so condescending online. I'm annoyed, I'm just going to ask a mechanic this question.

I seriously don't see your point about acceleration forces affecting static ride height. That's why I asked a straightforward question in order to get clarification.

I also gave you a straightforward answer in my original post to this thread, based on the information you initially gave.

Well, if it is budget related you have to buy springs as a set of four so that shouldnt matter and somebody please correct me if I am wrong but I do not think anybody makes any shocks for the 8 yet.
