Oil light came on for about 5 min then went away?
I was driving down my gf's house last night (~40 mile drive), and about 2 min before i got there, i noticed the red oil light on. Of course i was TERRIFIED at this sight after reading everything on these boards.
2 days before this incident, i checked the oil level, and it was right at the halfway point between L and F. 3 days before this incident i just bought my 8
The car has 5700 miles on it, and it is a 6 speed. When i got to her house i checked the oil level (which made me feel like a douche considering i just bought a pretty much brand new car and could possibly already be having issues with it), and the oil level was fine. The car is running a little rough, and shifting isne smooth anymore. You shift and there is a hesitation now. I ran the car hard once through the power band a few nights ago, and hit redline, but didnt get any lights in doing that.
Any ideas or am i going to have to take it in already?

If your VIN # is not included in this recall - add oil

As long as the dipstick reads around the upper mark, you should be able to trust that. You may have the TSB for baffles in the oil pan issue. Check the VIN against the TSB. If you need the work done, allow them about 1 day. If you have other issues, just list them and get it all done at once. Let your dealer know in advance so they can order parts.
