i custom made my own relocation kit. it looks like it is the exact same as this one. the filter blocks i bought from ebay and custom made my lines and fittings with parts from Jegs. the filter you use must be an M20. the block can either go on an M20 or 3/4" oil neck.

With the hoses 30 inches long you have almost 3 feet of hose length to locate this almost anywhere...

And you don't have to remove the RB Oil adapter if you don't want to, you can attach it on the top of it.

As for Oil filters you can use almost anything with either of those thread sizes as Dan said.

 

So the Series II filter won't fit? Sad. I pretty much have to use that because of its higher pressure bypass spring.

 

Not true Brice. you must use an M20 filter. the 2 adapters are for attaching the block to the filter neck. you must use the M20 adapter for that as well.

that 3/4" adapter is pretty much junk, might as well throw it away. its what makes that relocation kit universal for other cars. even still you can only use one size filter with this kit; an M20.

It appears that Nuke is correct about the filter thread based on the parts I received, but it looks like the other could be true if a special nipple was provided (it's not).

I plan to put mine down on the driver side of the engine for easy access from underneath or through the wheelwell flap opening depending on how far it will reach.

let's start a discussion on what M20 xP1.5 filters to use, someone mentioned elsewhere that the GTR oil filter has the correct thread and is quite a bit larger than the standard RX-8 S1 filter

If you guys decide on a K&N filter to use I will stock them and have the option to order the larger filter with orders.

 

The route to where I have open space in my bay is very crowded...so getting the oil lines to connect to the end behind the upper intake manifold is such a royal pia that i will try again next oil change.

Installing mine today (no work today). I spent an hour last night looking for the prime location (other than the fire wall, next to the PB unit) but am still stumped. Maybe on the airpump bracket on passenger side? Any Ideas?

Ya...but the cartridges are about the same price as a decent filter...so really it is $120 for the pretty filter...and then it's a wash

 

You can et those $120 filters for around $90-100.

 

Never said I paid that I just used the retail price...the street price is less

Why not run it down on the driver (left) side of the engine area? It's fairly open in there.

 

Thanks for the input Team, I ended up using the Air Pump bracket (right side). Their is plenty of hose length to go that direction. I will have a few pics later today. Didn't finish last night. Testing in a few minutes.

Did you get a second complete set of o rings (the ones for under the nipples) in your box of parts. I did and I spent some time trying to figure out where they go
I PMed Brice yesterday about the o rings but have not got any response yet. Tried the CS line and it didn't work either?
