I know there has to be a thread on this but my browser times out everytime I try to search for one. My question is Mazda tells me to change the oil every 7000 miles in my 05 RX-8. I am sure I have seen lots of post where people are doing oil changes every 3000 miles. Do I ingnore Mazda and do every 3000 just to be on the safe side or is safe to wait for 7000 miles. 7000 miles seems like a very long time. Thoughts anyone?

 

I change mine every 3,500 miles. I now have 98,000 miles, so far so good.

 

Oil every 2500, Oil Filter every 5000.

 

Oil and filter every 3000 miles or 3 months, whichever comes first.

The manufacturers oil change schedules are enough to make sure your engine will be OK through the warranty period.
