NoN-HID to OEM HID conversion, Is housing the same?

Does anyone knows if black housing is the same on HID and non-HID headlights? Trying figure out if you can swap balast and bulb in to non HID headlights.... Do Non HID headlights have a lid on the bottom of the headlight where blasts goes?
